Meet the Officiants
Founded in 2014 by Rev. Kevin Holland, Personal Weddings of North Carolina has now expanded to a full team of officiants in order to better serve engaged couples throughout the state of North Carolina and beyond. All of our officiants are fully ordained and trained to provide the same high quality, personalized ceremonies for which PWNC has become known for. Additionally, all of our officiants are proud allies of the LGBTQ+ community and celebrate all forms of love.

Rev. Michelle Coburn
Michelle originally comes from NY (state not city) and has made her way to NC via Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks. She has called Winston Salem home for over eight years. She knows the wedding industry from back to front having worked in the service industry and as an officiant. She is ordained through Amazing Love Sanctuary (Arvada, CO) and currently works as a full time High School Special Education Teacher. This has helped her develop excellent public speaking, problem solving, and organizational skills and she excels at managing groups of unruly teenagers! Michelle has experience in the traditions of Catholicism, Judaism, Unitarian Universalist, Methodist and Baptist beliefs. Michelle is the mom of two young adult daughters, step mom to two adult sons and happily married to Chris for 4 years. They are also parents to a variety of fur babies. Dr. Doug Hammack
Dr Hammack is fully ordained and licensed to perform weddings throughout the United States. He has led Common Thread, a spiritual community in Raleigh for 30 years, through a process of fundamentally rethinking what it means to be religious, what it means to be spiritual. Because the community has been integrating universal truths into their practice together, he has led hundreds of weddings for people across the whole spectrum of spiritual traditions. He’s led simple non-religious weddings, non-denominational and traditional-religion ceremonies (and a whole spectrum in between). Doug is well-versed in all major world religions and always works closely with couples to make sure the ceremony is theirs and that it represents them well.

Based in Raleigh, Doug is available throughout the Triangle area of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding communities.
Rev. Becky Sansbury
Becky Sansbury is a seminary graduate, ordained and licensed to conduct weddings throughout the United States. While her official title is “reverend”, she hopes you will call her Becky. She works with couples in a relaxed way to bring their ceremony ideas to life.
Becky believes that this time is about the two of you, your love story, and the way you want it expressed through your wedding. You may want a service that is spiritual, Christian/non-denominational, interfaith/intercultural, non-religious, or a blend of beliefs. Your style may range from very traditional to super casual. A chaplain and wedding officiant for over 35 years, Becky has conducted hundreds of weddings in styles ranging from the formality of Duke Chapel to a boho bash on the beach.
As the mother of two wonderful adults and grandma to an awesome 9-year-old, Becky values family. She will treat your family and guests like royalty so all of you can enjoy your rehearsal and wedding day.
Based in Raleigh, NC, Becky serves all of North Carolina, and is available for travel beyond this area.

Rev. Steve Daugherty
Ordained as a minister in 2002, Steve has spent his career learning about people, their conclusions and traditions, and the countless, beautiful ways there are to experience this life. He became the teaching pastor of Crosspointe Church in Cary in 2006, where he's had the privilege of playing the role of "lead-learner," linking arms with others for more and more understanding, awareness, kindness, and love.
Steve has been an officiant to countless weddings over the years, ranging from austere and solemn ceremony, to "Could you just marry us in jeans and leave all the god-talk out?" Whether you intend to be wed in an ornate chapel or while swatting mosquitos near a pond, Steve believes in your love, and in your expression of it. And he'd be honored to help make your wedding day all you wish it to be.
Steve is available in and around the Triangle; Raleigh, Apex, Holly Springs, Durham, Chapel Hill, etc.
